Description
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
With gratefulness, I sincerely thank Professor Ntiedo Umoren, the Co-Chair of the Board of Professor Akan Hogan Ekpo Centre for Public Policy (AHECPP) for honouring me to present the First Professor Akpan Hogan Ekpo Annual Lecture. I agree to do so out of sentiment without giving a second thought on my capability.
The good thing is I have the choice of selecting what to talk about. I congratulate Professor Akpan H. Ekpo, first for his birthday, and for his passion and commitment to scholarship. | bow my head to an achiever for finding it worthwhile to leave a legacy in the University of Uyo by underwriting and endowing an impressive edifice for
training Nigerians on Public Policy.
I also thank the Governing Council of University of Uyo for permitting this historic Centre to have a befitting home in Akwa Ibom State. Special appreciation to Mr. Edidiong Esara, Information Officer of Ritman University, for finding time to give a cursory editorial review of the paper. Finally, I thank God for giving me the intellect to fit into a group like this—reputable intellectuals—especially the economists who may want to see if I use the right terms, such as inflation, deflation, recession, and so on.
